Using the reported baseline of emissions, we were able to immediately assess and recommend solutions that would significantly reduce carbon emissions and costs, including:
- Investigate the feasibility of transitioning the company vehicle fleet towards hybrid and/or electric, as well as encouraging the use of other less emissions intensive modes of transport.
- Encourage employees to use less emissions intensive modes of transport, including hybrid or electric vehicles, or public transport for business related travel.
- Undertake meetings through virtual platforms where site meetings are not necessary, to reduce business travel.
- Mitigate the impact of purchased electricity by switching to a renewable or green energy tariff across all sites, and encourage a reduction in consumption through awareness campaign.
- Introduce a ‘Zero Waste to Landfill’ Policy to reduce environmental impact beyond emissions.
